I love making this on busy mornings. It tastes like something you’d get at a café, but it comes together in under 10 minutes with just a few simple ingredients. What's not to love?

ingredients

  • Toast - feel free to use your favorite slice of bread.
  • Cottage cheese - to make this recipe dairy free, you can use any dairy-free soft cheese alternatives.
  • Honey (or maple syrup).
  • Blueberries - you can also add other types of berries, such as raspberries.

step by step instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer - This ensures the toast gets crispy right from the start.
  2. Spread cottage cheese on the bread.
  3. Top with blueberries, then drizzle honey on top.
  4. Air fry, then serve!

air frying temperature

I tested this recipe at both 200°C (400°F) and 180°C (350°F), preheating the air fryer for 5 minutes each time.

The toast cooked at 200°C (400°F) had crispier edges and softer, more jammy blueberries.

At 180°C (350°F), the difference was minimal; the toast was only slightly less crispy so go with this if you prefer a softer finish.

useful tips

  • Use thick-sliced bread: A sturdy base like sourdough or brioche holds up best to the toppings and won't get soggy during air frying.
  • Dry your blueberries: Patting them dry before adding helps prevent the toast from becoming watery.
  • Don’t overload: Spread the cottage cheese in a fairly even layer and go light on the berries so nothing spills over in the air fryer.
