Fried Goat Cheese

This fried goat cheese and herbs is a simple and tasty appetizer or snack. Delicious goat cheese is topped with honey and herbs, then pan-fried, all without breading.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz goat cheese - approximately 170g
  • 3 tablespoon honey
  • a few sprigs fresh rosemary
  • few sprigs fresh or dried thyme

Instructions

  • Slice the goat cheese into evenly sized rounds or pieces (about ½ inch, approximately 1.25cm).
  • Heat a non-stick skillet or pan over medium heat; no need to add oil.
  • Place the goat cheese slices in the skillet and fry the bottom side for 30 seconds to a minutes, or until golden brown (see notes below).
  • While the bottom cooks, drizzle honey over the top side and sprinkle with fresh thyme and rosemary.
  • Carefully flip the slices and cook the honey-topped side for another 30 seconds to a minute, or until caramelized.
  • Transfer the fried goat cheese to a plate, drizzle with more honey, and serve immediately.

Notes

How quickly the goat cheese requires to get crispy will depend on the heat of your stove.
