Step 1:

- if using dry molokhia, cut off the hard stems and soak in hot water. - Sieve and repeat until clean. Skip if using frozen leaves.

- prepare the broth; to a deep saucepan, add water, the chicken, onion, bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, and salt.  -allow to cook, sieve and set the broth aside.

-prepare the aromatics; add ghee, butter, or margarine to a separate pan and fry the garlic until fragrant.  - add the cilantro (coriander) and stir

- next, stir in the molokhia leaves, salt, bouillon cube, allspice and saute for a few minutes. Add the broth, and allow everything to cook under medium heat.
